The terms of use, the house rules, and what to do if something feels wrong.

Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and south Hassler, a sole proprietorship based in Switzerland ("south", "we", "us"). They apply to the south app and to south-app.com. By using south you agree to them.

8. Private events

Some events are private. Their name, place, details and pictures stay inside south. Please don't screenshot, save or share them. We may restrict access for anyone who does.

9. Pausing, banning and leaving

10. Our service

11. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you in the app before the change takes effect.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law, and the Swiss courts at our place of business are competent. Because south is offered to people in the UK, we also follow the UK rules that apply to us, including consumer protection, data protection and online safety law. If you are a consumer in the UK, you keep every protection the law where you live gives you, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

13. Contact

contact@south-app.com. south is run by south Hassler, a sole proprietorship based in Switzerland.

House rules

south works because everyone looks after it. Five rules, short enough to remember.

  1. Turn up, or cancel early. A place you don't use is a place someone else could have had.
  2. Respect the room. The people, the host and the place.
  3. Keep private events private. What is inside south stays inside south.
  4. No selling, no spam. south is not a place to promote anything.
  5. Be who you say you are. Your name and your photos are real.

Safety and reports

If something on south feels wrong, tell us. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.

How to report

What happens next

Asking us to look again

If we took action on your account or your content, or if you are unhappy with how we handled a report, write to contact@south-app.com with the subject "Review", within 30 days. Someone who wasn't part of the first decision will look at it, and we'll reply in writing. You can use the same address for any concern about how we meet our duties under the UK Online Safety Act.

In an emergency

If you or someone else is in danger, call 999 in the UK, or 112 elsewhere in Europe.
